NGC 1499 - California Nebula SHO RGB
This image of NGC 1499, also known as the California Nebula, is a two-panel SHORGB mosaic. It is easy to understand the reason for its name, since its resemblance to the North American peninsula is very evident. This beautiful nebula is located within what is known as the Perseus molecular cloud, unlike the Orion molecular cloud, it is almost invisible, it houses precious objects such as the present image, NGC 1333 or the Pleiades. It is located in the constellation of Perseus, about 1000 light years away from us.
